In this video clip I speak about the brand-new 27 inch iMac Retina 5K screen.
9th Gen i5 3.7 GHz 6-core cpu Turbo Boost as much as 4.6 GHz.
with 2TB Fusion storage space.
It is the greatest version of the existing iMac align however I have not updated the cpu, RAM or Storage to greater specifications as is commonly suggested for video clip editors.
Check out the video clip to obtain some understanding right into my experience with this iMac in regard to its Video Editing Capability as well as a lot more.
Update:.
I wound up including some addedRam If you wish to see just how it was done as well as which Ram to acquire check out the complying with video clip:.

Hey, great video! So, I'm leaning towards the lowest end 27-inch 3.0GHz 6-core i5 with base 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD. If I were to upgrade the RAM myself to 32GB, would you recommend it for After Effects/Premiere/Photoshop/Illustrator use?
OR, alternatively, would you recommend the highest-end 21.5 inch with 3.2GHz 6-core i7, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD?
As a student, I wish to keep it below $3,000. But also wondering if it's worth getting the best specs long term…
Cheers.
Nice Video Sir, i got the 2019 iMac with 2TB Fusion drive. Generally i edit longer videos , more than 4 hrs. So, shall i plan to replace the harddrive with SSD. Or can i replace the i5 processor too with i9. I have already paired a 16gigs ram with my imac. Thank you.

The disk speeds of a fusion drive suffer massively once you start to fill up the drive. Out of the box they seem snappy but this slows to a crawl quickly. Using a USB c scratch drive can mitigate this though….
Does it support fccp 10.3.4
htc msi gigabyte msi acer asus
Where I live there are not many options and was wondering if I can get an external SSD drive and run FCPX through that and how it the best way to do it? Do I have to make a bootable drive out of the SSD or can I just keep my media on the SSD and run FCPX with the external files stores there? Or DO I have to install a complete OSX to the drive and boot up from that drive? Also, are the Samsung T5 1 TB drive adequate to do it off an iMac? They are really really cheap, about 150.00 for the 1TB SSD drive. Thanks for any ideas or suggestions on the best way to do this. I mainly will be using FCPX, Premiere and Davinci Resolve for 4K prores footage from my BMPCC4K My options are the iMac 27 5K either with base model i5 6 core with pro 570X 4gb or the Pro 575X 4gb. THANKS!
I just bought iMac 2019 i5 3.0 with 500gb samsung ssd at a price of 2,340,000 won which is about 1925 dollars
If i were to upgrade to i9 cpu, it would cost extra 1k and that is out of my price range.
Great stuff – the review I was looking for! This solidified my decision to order an i5/580x/512SSD for hobby videos. Vega was tempting but not worth the extra cost for my needs:
all those who talking about video editing all of them has no one video to be watched , only the video which talking about the iMac .
they made a huge head ache for us about video editing and we never watched a single video for those editors .
they buy an iMac just to make a review about the iMac it self !!!! so WTF ?!!!!
thanks for the video. it really helps real world experience to me and everyone
Hi sir! What if the fusion drive has 50% storage left, how will the disk speed test result?
Jesus bro, too many filters on your voice.
I guess everyone video edits huh
Just ordered the 27 inch 3.7Ghz i5 with the 1TB SSD. Will be a hell of an upgrade from my 2012 MacBook Air.
I’d suggest internal ssd in whatever level of iMac you choose. The hard drive will fail in 2-3 years and it isn’t a easy DIY replacement because of the current iMac design. Plus mo speed. Yes it’s overpriced, but worth it considering. 512 Size isn’t too crazy.
Disclaimer: Anecdotal claim based on 3 failed/replaced hds in 2 older iMacs. I’m not tech savvy at all.
Thanks for this review!
Thank you so much for the review!
I have a question about the ssd from imac. They are nvme?I can change them or going to a service and make them this job?
Thank you so much for testing the stock model, first review I found for a Apple I can afford, disk speed I can upgrade to an external thunderbolt SSD later and finish render time, I can grab a cup of coffee for a long render
Great video! thanks!
Great video, very succinct and to the point. The sound quality was great too. If someone works a lot with Illustrator, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Premier Pro, Lightroom, Logic Pro and uploads lots of photos… What specs would you recommend?
Good Morning , i have question , i would like to buy a I mac 2017 27 inch , intel core I5 quadricor 3,5 ghz Retina 5k , 16 go ram , ssd 512 , Radeon Pro 575 4 go , what do you thing about this configuration for video Editing? + 1 subscriber !!!!!!!!!!!!! price for this configuration 2200 euro , have nice day !!!!!!!!!
Thank you for the video , well done !!!!!!! big like !!!!!!!!!
Thank you!! Now I wish someone would do this w a MacBook pro
how's the fan noise on that thing at idle and under load?
I'm new to the photo/video editing game, but I'm looking at taking on a new career path so I want to improve my skills and make sure I have something which allows me to edit high quality photos and videos on a regular basis. I've noticed on the Apple website there are 3 models of this 27" 2019 iMac, obviously this is the top one of the 3. Would you say it's still worth me getting this one out of those 3, or would any of the other 2 (obviously them being cheaper is a bonus) do a job for me?
I don't mind spending the extra £200/300 if necessary, but for a beginner, and someone who might only use it a few times a week, I wouldn't want to spend more than I need to. My question really is will the lesser models of the 27" 2019 iMac run noticeably slower than this one? I really don't want to look back and wonder if I should've just gone for the top basic one.
Thanks in advance, love the video btw. New subscriber here!
