COMPLETE EVALUATION:.
After my impression video clip, I have actually considering that transformed my point of views on some functions and also currently either like or dislike them. Overall, this is still a fantastic laptop computer, however there are a couple of cautions to be familiar with. I believe that this laptop computer may be the very best pupil laptop computer of 2019 if you can manage it. It is a substantial financial investment, however well worth is if you require a laptop computer with power and also rate.
Added evaluation notes:.

* Aesthetics – numerous praises.
* Keyboard is flawlessly clicky and also well back lit.
* Magnetic cover closure.
* Webcam button is impressive (and also anybody that claims they still tape it is outrageous).
* Can fee through USB-C (Sorry for the mis-speak last time!!).
* Rarely warms up whatsoever – if it obtains cozy throughout 4k exports, I simply transform the follower control and also also after that it is not loud.

INSIDE.
* Very really quickly.
* Fantastic display.

* Tablet setting is really enjoyable and also attractive, however I virtually never ever utilize it.
* Three setups of backlit key-board makes it excellent for any kind of illumination problem (I hardly ever utilize the brightest though – what is the factor?).
The Bad:.

* Screen is a little bit “wiggle” – appropriate rigidity, however improperly damped.
* Fingerprint sensing unit.
* If I leave the web cam off, deal with ID will certainly not allow me in – rather I utilize my PIN a whole lot.
* All USB-C ports get on the exact same side, and also really close with each other.
* Speaker buzz at high quantities.
* some suffer high pitch follower appears – I discovered no such point though.
INSIDE.
* 4K editing and enhancing can be a little bit sluggish to make.

Hi. I am looking at getting this for work. I see there is apparently a newer version Oct 2019 out. I am from South Africa and will not feature here soon. So should I go for this "older" model? Apparently the newer one the screen goes right up to the edge? I cannot see from your video, but it looks like top of screen has a larger border than the Oct 2019 model (not that it's a problem for me)
i am a student. i need to write lots of notes. will hp spectre or dell xps 15 will be better for note taking. i mean which laptop had smooth pen support
Why wont HP make a 17 inch version of this laptop? I like a larger typing and viewing area on my laptops.
Just wondering why you decided to have that not taking advantage of the 360 flip screen, why not bought a laptop with the same spec instead that does not flip.
Thank you for this video. I recently purchased the Dell XPS 15 Model 7590. It is a fabulous lap top – I loved it – but it constantly kept booting me off the internet. I had remote assistance 2X on two different occasions and while they were in my computer they even got booted off. Then I had a tech come to the house to change the WiFi card and he seemed to think my speed was good and it would be fine. Not so. Still booting me off the Internet. Tomorrow I will be returning it to Dell – not happy about it as I loved the Computer. It was fast and so nice to work on. I am now thinking of looking into the HP Spectre so was happy to see your video. Hope this decision will be right. Either I try the Dell again with a new one or HP or Mac Pro???????
should i buy 100$ 4k display or 150$ i7 8gen on hp x360 13 inch
I don't like the gem cut look but I do love the original x360 design, which I own. It's tech heaven!
all the laptops on the spectre line is amazing based on features and specs. However, HP's quality just isn't there. Although not the gem cut model, i do have the 2018 x360 and the battery life isn't the best (though still useable throughout the day). Though the main issue were the hinges not being aligned properly and the fan dying on me. HP was able to fix the fan for me, but their attempt at fixing the hinge misalignment only made it even worse. again, amazing laptop, feature and spec packed, but do more research to consider the potential problems down the road. (fyi these problems came up within 2 months for me)
Is it good for gaming on the gtx 1650 version??
i use the bright because im a night owl and when its 2 am and im writing a last minute paper for university its nice, because i still blow ass at typing lmfaoo
This laptop is for "The Rick kids of New York City"
Mike, do you find that the track pad is noticeably on the louder side than other laptops? When I scroll on it, it makes clicking noises. Is this normal? Also, I had to calibrate the colour as there was a very noticeable yellow tint to the display out of the box. Are these issues I should be concerned about?
Do you think this would be better or worse than the XPS 15 for photo editing, video editing (Nothing super serious no 4k video or anything like that), and ocassional gaming (Games like csgo and overwatch), while also doubling as a student laptop.
I saw a teardown of this on YouTube, and the RAM is not soldered.
in pitch black
I hate when I want to turn in a project last minute and my damn laptop crashes. Don’t edit videos using a chrome book y’all
Is it worth it for me to buy the surface book 2 or just stick with this?
I dont know what to get this or the spectre folio :/
is this laptop good for some light gaming, im a student and other gaming laptops seem to be too bulky for me
Thanks for the follow up. Need more of these from reviews
This laptop has serious overheating issues and the fans are embarrassing loud. Even when doing the simplest of tasks. Gutted that I decided to buy this instead this instead of a MAC. Do not buy!
May not be your use case but I definitely found the 2in1 aspect of it to be really useful for college classes and taking notes. It let me either write out notes or mark up lecture slides really easily. Its not perfect, but if you want to take electronic notes it’s definitely capable and so you won’t need to buy another device to do that.
Thinking about this compared to the new XPS 15… anybody know how the power of both Laptops compare? Is the HP much slower than the Dell? Thanks for the video!
This review really helped me decide to give this laptop a shot for more than just the aesthetics. Thank you!
Is the face recognition feature good? Im wondering about that. I think art student would love this laptop. Drawing on tablet mode and carrying it everywhere.
Does the pen attach to the laptop somehow?
In the description: “if I leave the webcam off, Face ID will not let me in”
You don’t say
I am 73 and just ordered a mid version of this computer. I am not a heavy type software user, however I do want to start editing some of my drone videos, especially the one where I flew it into a tree and have video until it hit the ground, then the video stopped for some reason. The real reason I ordered this Corvette instead of using my older i5 laptop or i7 desktop sedan? Two very good reasons, one I like the looks and Mike says it feels solid too. Mostly though, I travel a lot and carry a laptop in my camper. I get very impatient waiting for the computer to decide when it is ready to do something. I have thousands of photos and quite a few videos and I like to look at them, and they appear slowly on my old one. I used to build a new desktop every year, however that is just not practical or for me, even possible. I like that this one is soldered together so I can carry it on my electric bike or wherever. While I don't necessarily like that I have to use a separate DVD deck to watch or make DVDs, at least it has ports to make it really fast.
Im looking for a good laptop for film school, will be doing heavy video creation & editing. From some googling ive seen the more popular laptops people are recommending are the aero 15, dell xps15 and macbooks but i prefer a windows OS so not looking for anything apple. What would be your recommendation, if not any of those i mentioned are any other laptops like this one or maybe different HP ones that are a good option? Also, from your experience what features should be the most important to be looking for in a laptop for video creation and editing?
Great review. New sub here. I have the same laptop in poseidon blue. It's gorgeous. Just got it about 1.5 months ago. You're right, the fingerprint is not so great. I have 2 questions:
– I have no recovery manager. If I do a search I just get the recovery media creator. Is yours the same too?
– Also I have no separate Bang & Olufsen module. If I do a search I don't get it. And it's not in the apps & features too. I found out that it's in the HP Audio Control under output where you can toggle the B&O off and on. Is yours the same too?
The reason I ask is because when I called HP support to confirm this, the rep told me I should have a recovery manager and B&O audio in the apps and features and I should be able to find B&O when I do a search (which I don't). And he suggested I do a laptop recovery to get these 2 things back which I'm hesitant to do. I did go back to the store where I got the laptop from and checked the exact laptop on display – it had no recovery manager and B&O app too, just like mine.
Please reply. I need to know. Thanks.
great review and nice shirt
My battery only lasts about 3 to 4 hours and it takes super loooong to charge, the screen is very dark you cant use it outside, its slow on the internet and it gets hot basic word work, wouldnt buy it again. I got the top specs on my, it cost me 2000 dollars. The design is nice, but thats all.
The Ram being soldered on the motherboard is a deal breaker to me with 32 GB ram being so cheap at around $125.00 I don't mess with computer that don't allow the user to upgrade the computer.
