At the end of the video I mention a picture of all the boards, well I didn't take it in time… so here it is now 😉 https://twitter.com/HardwareUnboxed/status/1161069976251293697
got the x570 gaming edge and im regretting…
MSI RMA and customer service in India very bad. Unless you prove its board fault they will never RMA. I am happy to see MSI scoring low and avoiding like plague.
Hey guys stevezoid here!
Hello, I'm planning budget PC and I'm curious about Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite but with your detailed review now I'm considering Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus. So what do you recommend between those two. I see this asus has wifi and usb-c. I'm planning this setup for working on 3d projects instead of gaming.
Got the msi x570 gaming pro in a bundled with 3700x at Newegg when it came out. Took the gamble and lost. Thanks Steve.
Well, my Gaming Edge X570 burned through, so that's that. Bought the Aorus Elite and hope I will never look back
I got the MSI Edge just to spite this review hahahaha. I watched a few reviews before i went to the shop and bought it. It's been great. lol.
how about MSI MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon WiFi ? bcs i own it lol
Is there any issue to pair a R5 3600 with msi b450 gaming carbon pro ac? Instead of b450 tomahawk max?
So. Should I buy the b450 tomahawk or the Asus tuff gaming x570?
Thank you for this video, I was considering the MSI board and now I am shifting my money towards the Aorus Elite
I'm going a 3600 build so I'm guessing the VRM's don't matter as much? The Steel Legend is slightly cheaper than the TUF with better features. Do you think the VRM on it is fine for an OC'd 3600 even on a 40 degree Australian summer day? Because adding 20 to those temps is a bit sketchy, but i'm thinking with a 3600 it's a lot lower.
great article.. any chance of something similar for B450 motherboard, particularly the Tomahawk Max? thank you.
Very nice video. Makes me very happy with my recent purchase of the Asus X570 Tuf. Have a Ryzen 7 3700x in it and absolutely loving it. Coming from Intel my entire life, glad I took another look at AMD
Just bought the Asus TUF gaming for my new rig. I hope to report good things
Appreciate you telling it like it is, Steve. I used your benchmarks and reviews to pick my parts for this gen's build. Cheers, mate!
Although they have the same VRM, MSI A-Pro and X570 Gaming Plus have different Heatsinks. Gaming plus apparently has bigger sinks. Using the x570 Gaming Plus with a Noctua D15 I did some 90 minute testing on Prime 95 with a 3700X and the maximum VRM temperature was 51 degrees. In games it is maximum at 41 degrees. Using a 3900X it seems hard to reach 110 degrees in MSI gaming Plus, from 51 degrees to over 110 is too far away. Or does the 3700X to 3900X make such a difference for the extra cores?
Awesome video exactly what I needed to know.
I watched the buildzoid video regarding the ASUS Gaming TUG plus board and found the comments about the VRM config being overkill for the price range. It was because of that review I purchased the ASUS Gaming TUF Plus for $200. This video only confirmed Buildzoids conclusion.
hey I have a question. I bought the msi gaming edge wifi x570 with a ryzen 5 3600 because i trusted their products because they were high quality. Now the question is will I have problems (thermal problems) with a stock r5 3600?
Thanks
Thx for the great Video – I would've chosen the wrong board to be honest (wanted the MSI X570-a pro).
Going with the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite now – You have been a tremendous help!!!!! <3
Is the Steel legend similar to ASRock X570 Extreme4
These videos are always helpful when deciding to build a new rig. Awesome video and thank you for these types of videos.
I know I'm late to the comments by a country mile. But on the MSI board it looks like it is missing a cap right above the cpu bracket. If you look at the video right around 18:06 you will see what I mean.
Man, this review is the one I was waiting for, thanks
In my country asus tuf cost 20euros more thats a lot
well that sucks I was thinking about getting that MSI board
Every motherboard except some gigabyte and asrock need 8+4pin cpu connector. This sucks and you have no choice for ASUS or other brand. They need to improve and add 8pin instead of 8+4 because Power supply rated at 650w are Only 8pin…so your Basicly fuck with 650w… And IT doesnt make sense to do 8+4
Can you make a video on best a320 mobos? After the update all a320 can overclock now…
As a general fan of MSI motherboards, the Gaming Edge seems disappointing.
Ill just wait for the B550 Tomahawk to show up.
I'm content with my gaming edge! In my case I'm doing great and do not see these temps while stress testing on OC
