PC/Laptop Repair – Frequently Asked Questions

1. How do you operate? Do you provide collection services?

We carry out most of the computer and laptop repair at our studio workshop located in GATESHEAD, HIGH STREET (at COLORPEAK studio). We also offer collections services and home callouts. If you choose a home PC/laptop repair, please note in some cases that the nature of the fault requires us to collect the equipment for advanced analysis and additional inspection at our Studio. We return the fixed unit to you personally, right after the repair completion at the agreed time.

2. Do you charge for a broken equipment diagnosis and quotes for faulty PC/laptop repair costs?

If you bring your broken PC/laptop/computer to our shop, we will check it for FREE.
If you call us out to your place for a diagnosis, you will be charged £20 of fixed fee regardless if you decide to go ahead with the PC laptop repair or not.
However, should we find ourselves at an unlike position of being unable to repair the fault after already communicating to you that we can – there is no charge whatsoever. Neither for the callout or the PC laptop fault diagnosis. See also the “No Fix – No Fee” policy below.

3. Can you come today? What about after-hours visits for emergency computer and laptop repair?

Contact us anytime and we will do our best to arrange a visit the same day or at the time convenient to you. Evenings until 9 PM, including weekends and bank holidays!

4. Do I pay after or before the job?

You pay after. We value full transparency of our repair services. Therefore, all prices are listed under Services section. There are no hidden charges for PC and laptop repair. Additional costs for PC replacement parts may apply only if necessary for the successful repair. Before the replacement, we will make sure to inform you on all necessary spare computer parts including any additional costs.

5. Do you charge for a call-out?

All call-outs – both home visits and the collection with return costs additional £15 within Tyne and Wear. Long distance travel within North East (Northumberland, County Durham) and outside of Tyne and Wear county is also possible if you are willing to cover additional mileage fare of £10 – e.g. if live in Hexham, the callout charge would cost you £25.

6. What if the device breaks the following day/week again? Will you be charging me repeatedly?

As per our No Fix – No Fee policy we will come back immediately and continue to work on the particular problem until completion for no extra charge. We will also ensure to our best abilities the issue does not reoccur.
However, if we identify the fault is unrelated to the previous PC/laptop repair (e.g. we’ve removed a virus, and now you called out for the screen fix), we will charge you for a new diagnosis or repairs carried out.

7. Do you offer a warranty for a completed PC/laptop repair?

We provide 30-day warranty coverage for all repairs. All spare computer parts are also covered by a manufacturer’s warranty (12 months on average).

8. What happens if you are unable to repair my equipment? What if I am not happy with the outcome?

We operate on “No Fix – No Fee” policy. If we’ve diagnosed the fault and communicated to you that we will attempt the repair, yet we were unable to offer a satisfactory resolution or the problem is out of our Services scope, you will not be charged for the call-out or the diagnosis (if applicable). If you are unhappy with the repair and there is a reason to that, we offer 100% money-back guarantee.
It is paramount for us that you are fully satisfied with the entire experience.
